Ventnor raised Mark Garaway, now Director of Cricket at Millfield School, is the guest speaker at the Dorset Cricket Society, which meets at Hurn Bridge [Christchurch FC] on Thursday, 1.45pm.
Mark will talk about his long career in cricket which, since he ended his playing career in 1999, has included being coach at Somerset, then team analyst and assistant coach of Duncan Fletcher's Ashes winning England squad, and later operations manager with Cricket Ireland. He took up his post at Millfield in 2012.
Recognised as one of the lead cricket coaches in the country, Garaway is an accomplished speaker and certain to provide a thought provoking afternoon.
Mark will be joined on the top table by Hampshire's England Under-19 all-rounder Dom Kelly, who is taking time out from his Millfield studies and preparing for his forthcoming tournament in India and next January's U19 CWC in Sri Lanka in January.
The meeting is in the scout building immediately adjacent to Hurn Bridge, where ample car parking is on tap. New members will be warmly welcomed.
